- Microsoft Access is a database management system DBMS that combines the relational Microsoft 

Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software development tools.

- Excel is made up of sheets with cells that can be used to perform calculations, create charts, and so on. Access, on the other hand, includes tables, queries, forms, and report modules. Overall, Excel is a spreadsheet, whereas Access is a database management system.
